Mrs. Poole fills in as temporary secretary for Sandy; the mother of the twins' pal Steve Traeger makes a play for Michael.
A very good episode with great A and B plots. Mrs. Poole has her biggest storyline yet and Edie McClurg does not disappoint -- although the script could have been a little funnier.
Sandy is at first skeptical that Mrs. Poole can keep up, but it quickly becomes evident that she's "Robo-Secretary". There is a funny sight gag when Mrs. P redecorates the office to look like something resembling Snow White's cottage. We learn that the Poole's idea of a romantic dinner is "Big Macs in bed".
Cristine Rose, who plays the coarse neighborhood Mom with the hots for Mike, is like a cross between Lesley-Ann Warren and Julie Brown. We first see her with curlers in her hair, but later she shows up in the middle of the day dressed to kill and to make sure Mike knows how "available" she is.
Clyde Kusatsu (Mr. Matsuda) would play Margaret Cho's father on her 1994-95 ABC sitcom ALL AMERICAN GIRL.
