An episode about Dave's friend getting AIDS. A big topic of the era. What can I say, a downer of an episode of an otherwise funny show, The last episode to show in the Fall of that year. (Four unaired episodes were finally shown later that summer, including a Christmas one). Since it was being cancelled anyway, maybe they thought why not? Might have been a reason for the cancellation, who knows? The timing would make one wonder.
Every time this episode comes on in re-runs I switch channels. I hate it when comedy shows get preachy and sad, and just plain out of character. Stay with the comedy.
