In the opening scene, Charlie is sleeping in his bed when Berta comes in to collect the dirty laundry. She strips the top sheet and blanket off the bed and Charlie goes into the bathroom. Berta then goes into the bathroom for the towels. As she leaves the bedroom, the mattress is bare, even though Berta never removed the bottom, fitted sheet.
