Summaries

  • A woman goes back in time to the birth of Hitler and attempts to interfere so that World War II never happens.

Synopsis

  • This is an episode in which a character (played by Katherine Heigl) goes back on a way one trip through time in order to assassinate Adolf Hitler while still an infant to prevent World War II from ever starting and saving millions of lives. She lies to gain entrance into the Hitler home, but finds great difficulty in killing an innocent baby. The nanny is very suspicious of her. At one point she was about to smother him, but is unable to do so. Though adverse to killing an infant, she knows that she must kill the baby. After several failed attempts, and upon being discovered that she is not who she says she is, she kidnaps the baby and runs off, jumping into the water presumably drowning both herself and baby Adolf. However, since we all know that "history" cannot be changed, the nanny (discovering the death) replaces the baby with a street gypsy's baby, who bears enough of a resemblance to baby Adolf that she can present this baby to the father as his own. The father proceeds to introduce this son to his guests as "Adolf", presumably the Adolf Hitler known to history in the first place. You can see that the baby appears somewhat deranged. Sadly, the person who set out to change history ends up being the one who causes the sequence of events to fall into place to make that "history" a reality.
