- Hector Poole is a meek and mild bank clerk who with the toss of a coin can suddenly hear people's thoughts. He's slow to catch on to exactly what he's hearing but soon learns that his manager, Mr. Bagby, is having an affair and that a fellow employee, Miss Turner, is attracted to him. When he "hears" long-time employee Mr. Smithers plan to fill his briefcase with the bank's money and run off, Poole tells his boss.
