General Savage is rescued from the Norwegian island by a Grumman Albatross amphibian bearing the US Air Force words along the sides. Mistake 1 - the Albatross first flew in 1947. Mistake 2 - During WWII the American Airforce was referred to an the US Army Airforce THE USAF did not come into being until 1947.
At the end of the show, when General Savage is rescued, the rescue plane has United States Air Force on the fuselage. The United States Air Force did not come into being until 1947.
Near the end, a Grumman Albatross is seen landing. The Albatross was not introduced until 1949.
The Grumman HU-16 Albatross that rescued the general entered service in 1949 and was painted in USAF's 1960's paint scheme.
General Savage is picked up by an American Plane (wrong era & markings but an American nonetheless). When he sees his group doctor he complains about the British medics giving him only broth. If he was picked up by the USAAF (or USAF as pictured) and not the RAF he would have been taken to an American Base NOT a British one.
