One review for this particular episode goes on and on how some of the music from the episode was very similar to the old Star Trek music. Well, this is true....but they used this same music in nearly every episode....and this series pre-dated Trek.
What the episode is about is odd. Apparently a B-17 dubbed 'Angel Babe' has been through a ton of missions...nearly 50. And, apparently it's the first which has lasted this long. To the Army Air Corps wants to make a big deal out of it...sending photographers to make the plane a propaganda star. However, oddly, despite being a great plane, the episode is all about how this final mission seemed doom after a while...and some of the crew were scared to stay on it for this final flight.
I am sure superstition was common among the crews of the planes. After all, so much is out of their control and good luck and bad luck were probably sought or avoided by them. It's also an interesting episode because British actor Roddy McDowell plays an American and puts on a very thick accent (which I found a bit funny). A pretty decent episode...well worth seeing.
