Ace of an episode

Warning: Spoilers
Continuing to prove that they're not afraid of experimenting with their own formulas, the "Tru Calling" writers try several new angles here: a dead body asks for Tru's help but the day does not rewind; a second dead body does the same, the day rewinds and now Tru has to save two lives; Tru and Harrison work as a team; the original events are mirrored and switched around; and secrets about Davis' private life are revealed. Despite some comic relief at the poker game this is one of the saddest tales so far (Courtnee Draper gives a particularly affecting performance), and the ending hits you like a ton of bricks. It's a stunningly good episode, perhaps the best since "Star Crossed". ***1/2 out of 4.

One for Tru. One for Jack.

Warning: Spoilers
Its double the fun when two dead people ask Tru for help.

A young student is brought into the morgue much to the distress of her family who cannot understand why their daughter would take her own life. When she calls to Tru for help ... nothing happens. Later Geoffrey Pine, businessman, is brought to the morgue. When he asks for help Tru is sent back to restart the day with two people to save.

Harrison finds himself shadowing Melissa Sumner, who appears to have everything to live for. Unfortunately she has a gambling problem and the shame of facing her parents who have saved for her tuition is too much to cope with.

Meanwhile, Geoffrey Pine is trying to climb out of hole by attending a high stakes poker game. To Tru and Harrison's surprise Melissa Sumner attends the same game. So our heroes now have to find a way to help both when there can only be one winner.

The end result is one victim dies, thanks to Jack's meddling, and the other lives.

Great script and excellent acting from everyone concerned.
