I watched one mediocre movie then a bad one just before this, so my reaction may have been unduly influenced, but I really enjoyed this! You have to also figure this was from the time back when pilots were usually not the greatest examples of a show and really just shoehorned in a lot of awkward exposition as a way to get from point A to point B.

Adrian Paul was really good, and surprisingly funny, as an alien just getting used to a human body. I guess they explain this later by saying he took his form from a photograph instead of stealing an actual human's life force and that's why he has trouble walking and talking? The character of Mel seems crazy to pick up some wacky guy in his underwear from the side of the road then take him to her home instead of a hospital or police station or something. It's such a bad set up, I can understand if some people are like "why should I care about this airhead". But again, I guess you have to go with it just to get the show going. Her friend Jess seems like nothing but an irritating ploy to get male viewers. Watch for Geraint Wyn Davies when he shows up pretending to be a concerned motorist - he makes a hilarious face as he speeds off that I'm not sure was planned. I even enjoyed Chyna/Joanie, especially in the beginning when she too was playing a new human. (Ok they mention alien Ree secretes a hormone that Cole can track her with - I don't get why would her human form also be secreting that hormone?)

I saw this when it was first on tv and I'm psyched to find it streaming. I always loved all those low budget, basic cable action shows from back in the day. I definitely want to watch more after the pilot.
