This show started out in the good to so-bad-it's-good range. Now it's quickly become mostly bad. Overall it's due to very mediocre writing. But also because Mel is so boring and annoying. The actress playing her has about one expression, which involves lots of blinking, raised eyebrows, and her mouth hanging open. Plus, when she's not dealing with her failing bar, she spends most of her time scolding Cole. Not too compelling. It was surprising she actually took some action this episode, of course immediately getting trapped by the bad guy and needing rescue. This episode also took waaay too long to get the plot away from the bar (and ditzy, annoying Jess) and onto the bad guy of the week. Once the story did get around to him, you'd think a creature whose basic need is to seduce women (and men?) to survive would be a lot better at it. Instead he's super creepy and repellent. Just all around really bad, uncreative writing this episode. Adrian Paul deserves something much better than this.
