The script for the show was largely written by three young girls in 8th grade (Renee Carter, Sarah Creef, and Amy Crosby). They submitted their script to Amblin Entertainment, and their script was then turned into the show's episode. Caricatures of the three girls appear in the show, but their actual voices are not used.
This is the only episode of the series where Steven Spielberg voices himself. The other appearances of Steven Spielberg are voiced by famed vocal actor Frank Welker, impersonating Spielberg's mannerisms.
