Marc Lawrence plays a gangland boss just released from prison. He finds things on the outside have changed somewhat and that he won't be picking up where he left off. A former Lawrence henchman, Gerald Mohr, has taken control of the rackets in Lawrence's absence. Mohr offers Lawrence a minor role in running the new mob which he accepts. Of course Lawrence has no intention of honoring the new status quo but needs time to gather his forces. The police know there is going to be trouble and call in special undercover agent, Mike Connors. In order to worm his way into Lawrence's crew, Connors acts the part of a crooked truck driver. Once in with Lawrence he then offers his services to Mohr. Connors tells Mohr that for a price he will keep him up to date on Lawrence's plans. Connors then returns to Lawrence and tells him that Mohr has hired him to spy. Tensions rise as Connors plays the two gangsters off against each other. Mohr hi-jacks several of Lawrence's trucks but Lawrence plays it cool and does not strike back. Mohr tells him it was all a misunderstanding and they should meet to smooth out their problems. Both camps agree to the meeting. Both also plan to use the opportunity as cover to rub-out the other faction. But the police are waiting and swoop in as soon as the rough stuff begins.

A quick moving and enjoyable episode of an under-rated series. (b/w)
