Synopsis

  • Eric tries to get Donna off the celibacy bandwagon that she has committed to until marriage. He says this is reckless, irresponsible and might lead to cancer. To get back at Donna, Eric spends the romantic dinner money on bottle rockets.

Michael Kelso was looking forward to the new, luxurious police academy in another town called Waukegan. Hyde promises to drive Kelso over. But he doesn't want to go at all now for some reason. Eric reminds Kelso that he wanted to be a cop to prove to Brooke that he can be a responsible father. The gang tells Kelso to have confidence in himself and see this thing through to become a cop, as too much is riding on this. Hyde says that he has a few things pending downtown and he needs someone on the inside.

The guys come by to take Kelso to Waukegan, but he tries to hide in the closet and is easily found out. Eric confronts Kelso about the real reason why he doesn't want to go the new academy. Kelso says he believes he'll lose his friends and fears he may not make new friends. Eric says that Kelso has stolen, burned and even groped his stuff and yet Kelso is a great guy.

When Jackie's mother and gold-digging role model Pamela 'Pam' Burkhart (Brooke Shields) arrives, Donna says she should welcome her. Jackie is mad at Pamela for showing up all of a sudden after 3 months, having spent all this time in the bars and Cantinas of Mexico. The guys are smitten with Pam and are falling over each other to catch her attention.

Kitty organizes a tea party to get Pam and Jackie to talk to each other. Red drools all over Pam and Kitty can see it. Red was irritated at Kitty's tea party before Pam came over (he even said that America bombs countries that drink tea). But then, Red turns into a tea lover as soon as Pam comes over. Jackie is convinced that Pam is back to town just to find her new meal ticket. Pam says that when Jackie's father was imprisoned, she panicked, but she still loves Jackie. Pam promises never to leave Jackie again and all the guys believe Pam.

Pam digs into Donna's own dad, Bob. Donna fights Jackie, who herself can't believe that Pam would lower her standards for Bob (Jackie calls Bob cheesy and corny like nachos). Donna is offended by that and says that Jackie's mom would go after anything Mexican.

Donna tries to get Kitty and Red to talk Bob out of Pam, but they are busy having their own fight over how Red drools over Pam. Red tries hard to convince Kitty that he likes tea since Kitty was kind and courageous enough to open Kitty's eyes to a whole new world of hot beverages. Donna tells Bob that he should question Pam's motives since she just got back from Mexico and is already latched on to him. Red also cannot believe that Bob is dating Pam.

Meanwhile Bob gets a hot tub for Pam. Bob says that he has all this extra money and Pam is helping him spend some. Eventually Jackie and Donna join forces to break up Pam and Bob.
