Synopsis

  • Kitty saw Midge leave early morning with her suitcase and saying that she is never coming back. Midge has left for California to be a star on Broadway. When Midge Pinciotti (Tanya Roberts) leaves her husband Bob, he goes into denial and starts doing put-off jobs in house and garden 'for when she comes back'. Bob is weeding the garden. He believes that Midge is coming back as he did all the right things. They had an open marriage and they even experimented with drugs and threw nudist parties.

Kitty is not OK with Bob believing that Midge is going to come back, as this might hurt Bob in the future. Red has to finally yell at Bob to get him to realize that Midge is never coming back. Bob finally accepts the truth that Midge is not coming back and is all sad. Red takes him out for a beer.

Kitty is determined to help Bob and Donna; the Forman men prefer to avoid the house of tears. Kitty takes the breakfast that she cooked for her family, over to the Pinciotti's to feed and comfort them. She tells Red that she hasn't left him and hence he should satisfy himself with a Pop-Tart. Donna is mad at Bob since Midge always told him that she is unhappy and that she would leave one day, and yet Bob did nothing.

The boys reminisce how well Midge filled sweaters. They remember the times when Midge used to run up to them in a sweater and the week when she took up jump rope. Kelso and Fez set out chasing for older housewives 'who are so experienced, willing and grateful'. Fez has dressed in a tight tennis outfit as that is the perfect outfit to pick-up older women. Kelso points out that the whole of Point Place does not have a tennis court. They head to the Piggly Wiggly grocery store instead. The store has older ladies.

They are surprised when Kelso pinches a pair of buttocks and runs away, leaving Fez to face the woman. It turns out that those buttocks belong to Kitty. Kitty admonishes Kelso for bringing Fez to the Piggly Wiggly store as a lot of loose women shop there. She admonishes Fez that grabbing behinds is not a nice way to meet a young woman. And thanks Fez for the compliment, as it made her day.

As Bob proves too tactile (he is a crier and a hugging person and there is no escape), Kitty sends over still reluctant Eric. Eric doesn't want to go as things are weird between him and Donna after their breakup, but Kitty would have none of it as she simply cannot go back over to face Bob. When he brings Donna a casserole, to his delight she first jumps that and then his bones. Eric thinks he is back together with Donna, but she has no such thoughts. Donna tells Jackie that they did it twice, and she felt sick. She is sure that Eric forgot all about it by now. Meanwhile Eric is bragging about his conquest to Hyde.

Jackie tells Eric that Donna would have "done it" with anybody. Eric goes over to yell at Donna but can't as she is packing away her mom's clothes.
