Synopsis

  • Kelso and Hyde are amazed to see a steamy car contains a couple making out: Fez and Steven's ex Patty. It is the brunette that Hyde met at the restaurant when Fez left with the blonde girl Holly.

Soo, Fez brings Patty around to Eric's basement and introduces Patty to everyone as his girlfriend. Jackie is shocked to know that Fez has told Patty nothing about her. Now that Patty is around, Fez starts ignoring Jackie. Eric makes fun of Hyde that Fez was able to steal a girl away from him.

Neither admits it, but Jackie is jealous, as Fez used to court her in vain and now pays her no attention. Jackie tries to get group support to isolate Patty, but everyone in the group likes Patty, further frustrating Jackie. Jackie takes it out on Michael for not writing her poems like Fez does for Patty. Fez also interrupts Jackie, commenting that she is always talking.

Hyde can't figure out why Patty would ditch him for Fez. Hyde discusses his problems with Leo. Leo couldn't care less and lives in his own world. Hyde reckons it wouldn't be so bad if it was anybody other than Fez. Hyde talks to Leo, who tells him that in real life, his kids ran away from him. And Hyde's parents abandoned him. Hyde starts spending more time with Leo and they get closer. Leo asks Hyde to be his father and Hyde agrees. Leo remembers that he might have been in the Navy

Jackie is plain jealous that Fez loves Patty in ways that Kelso never would. Donna thinks Jackie likes Fez. Jackie tells Donna that she is venturing into dangerous territory. But as Donna continues to point it out, Jackie realizes that she likes Fez, and runs away screaming.

Kitty wants to spend time with her baby boy. Kitty wants to take Eric shopping for new shoes and underwear. Eric is reluctant and Kitty is upset. Red, who realizes at that age no boy wants to be seen with his parents, tells her "we pay his bills, we own him" Red orders Eric to spend time with Kitty, and Eric reacts as if he is being punished.

Kitty asks Eric, enthusiastically encouraged by eternal liar Hyde (Hyde claims that if he had a mother, he would go shopping with her everyday), to join her for a movie "Annie Hall". Eric wants to go shopping instead, but Red decides the issue and Eric has to go for the movie.

The movie date starts with dinner at a pizzeria. Kitty tells Eric that she just wanted to spend some time with Eric alone and outside the house. There, crazy kid Timmy cries out aloud 'Eric is on a date with his mama', and a Woodie Allen Movie, torture because most scenes contain sex or drugs. On the way back Kitty talks to Eric and they both enjoy the fact that women in don't wear bras and Diane Keaton's nipples. Eric kisses Kitty when they get back home and Kitty is in tears. Kitty is thankful to Eric for being a wonderful son.
