- Red and Kitty learn from the gang that Eric and Donna broke up.
After his break-up with Donna, Eric is too depressed to join the gang for another visit to Funland. Eric spends the whole day in bed and hasn't been out of his room for ages. Kelso tries to argue that the upside is that Bob will not be Eric's father-in-law and won't be in all his wedding pictures. Eric is inconsolable. Hyde makes fun of Eric that he had the hottest girl in Point Place as his girlfriend and he blew it. Eric won't let the guys touch his GI Joes and tells them not to talk. Eventually, the guys get bored and leave for Funland.
Jackie repeatedly tells Kelso to stay together so he doesn't get lost. The rules are that Kelso cannot bump into Jackie at the bumper cars, and no riding the goats at the petting zoo. The minute she takes her eyes away, he wanders off. Michael gets lost, so he reports himself to lost and found, thinking that his friends will eventually come looking for him. He shares the waiting area with 2 little boys, who also got separated from their parents. Hyde is not interested in looking for Kelso. Fez tries to look for Kelso all over the Funland area, but with no luck. Jackie is not tall enough to look for Kelso over a crowd. And she is distracted by the Funland princess. Eventually it is closing time and the gang is asked to leave the premises.
Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) fails to console Eric. She convinces Eric to have breakfast but Red keeps pointing out that he looks like he has just been dumped. Kitty tries to boost his confidence by saying that he is a handsome young man and that makes Eric even more angry. Kitty points out to Red that a depressed kid can stay home for years. So next Red tries in vain to make Eric, who mopes in bed, snap out of it. Red asks Eric to trim the hedges. Eric tries to talk to Red about the hole in his heart after he broke up with Donna, but Red is not the sensitive type and tries to get Eric to focus on the gardening and flushing gophers out of the ground. Eric gets even more depressed when he runs into Donna while taking out the garbage. Donna is convinced that Eric is wrong for pushing her and trying to get her to wear his little ring and commit to the relationship. Red tries to hook Eric up with a new cashier at work, but Eric is just not ready yet.
Red then remembers his own despair after losing his first love Eloise. Red was devastated and cried all night, but never admitted that to Kitty and says, "he took it like a man".
Red takes Eric out for a beer and consoles him that life will get better. He tells Eric how he got dumped by Eloise and it hurt a lot. After a while, Red moved on and eventually she became just a memory.
Kelso makes it back home with help from the mother of 2 kids who were in lost and found, along with Kelso.
