In a city the size of LC, a high profile situation involving an officer as hostage would result in more than one police car being involved in a pursuit.
With the kidnapping of Stacy, Corrigan rides with Hooker. In reality, Corrigan would continue to work alone, albeit not as Adam 16, as that is a two-officer unit designation. Ironically, his riding with Hooker corrected Hooker's improper Adam 30 designation by now having two officers on board. Corrigan is later seen riding alone as Adam 16.
Stacy escapes out a window and runs into the woods in the darkness. She could have run in any direction, yet her captors knew exactly which way she went and were able to get in front of her.
Stacy was shown as actively resisting the kidnappers by doing things such as kicking a gun out of their hand, yet during the armored car robbery when she is pulled from the van she complies even though the gun thug is not pointing the shotgun at her. All she needed to do was drop to her knees and Hooker could have shot him, but instead she went along with him inside the building.
Corrigan leaves Stacy to call for backup. In the prior show, Hooker used a portable radio after crashing yet another police car, yet neither Corrigan nor Stacy had a portable radio.
Hooker questions Corrigan about them intervening in the robbery and asks if they were playing Starsky and Hutch (1975). A proper term would be cowboy, as their actions involved improper police procedure, while the show referenced merely involved detectives. Hooker's detective work while assigned to uniform patrol was much more aligned with Starsky & Hutch than what Corrigan and Stacy did.
