• Superman : [fighting on subway tracks as a train approaches]  There are people on that train; maybe hundreds of them.

  [throwing punches, Superman knocks him backward, and Kalibak is electrocuted by the third rail]

  Kalibak : My name is Kalibak.

  Superman : I'll settle with you in a moment.

• Kalibak : Now, with your death, I shall prove my worthiness to my father.

  Superman : Father?

• Superman : [Jonathan is trapped under rubble]  Don't move. I'm coming.

  Kalibak : [punching him]  The only place you're going is to the grave.

  Superman : Stop! There's an innocent man!

  Kalibak : How naive you are. On Apokolips, we are taught even as children...

  [throwing another punch] 

  Kalibak : ....that no one is innocent.

• Desaad : You do not have to accept your rejection. I can send you to Earth to destroy Superman.

  Kalibak : And cover your failure, worm?

  Desaad : Well, uh, technically. But if you were to succeed, Darkseid would honor you. You would be his favorite.

  Kalibak : Yes...

  Desaad : It is only right that you claim all the glory for this great deed. Do not even mention that I suggested it.

  Kalibak : [a portal opens]  Are you certain?

  Desaad : Trust me, Kalibak. Darkseid will finally accept you as his son.
