Suddenly Starsky produces a silencer for his pistol so that the shot that flattens the tire of the armored truck will not be heard by the guards inside. Under no believable circumstances would he have had a silencer available on such short notice. Further more his model 59 Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol was not equipped to accept a silencer.
