If Starsky and Hutch weren't always trying to outmaneuver each other over the attentions of a beautiful woman, they might notice sooner when they are being conned by her. So it was really their own fault that she was able to hide her true identity and intentions for so long. Even after they had a clue, she was such a good liar that nobody really knew what she was up to. She definitely had their number right from the start, and she was a rare one that got away.
Priscilla Barnes really does play the part of the foxy lady, Lisa, very well. It's no wonder that Starsky and Hutch can't figure out what are lies and what is the truth. She does the same with the criminals who are after her, so everyone is being manipulated by her at once. Cleverly written and done convincingly by her.
My favorite scene is when Starsky and Hutch begin to realize they are being misled by Lisa and they both make phone calls to check their suspicions. PMG and DS are on screen together as they talk on different phones simultaneously, verifying their ideas. Then they correlate their findings and know they've been had. They finally stop thinking with their you-know-whats and use their heads instead.
I don't really like the way the writers have Starsky and Hutch make their plays for this woman and try to outdo each other in the process. That seemed to become the norm in Seasons 3 & 4 and I never saw the need for it. I know it's supposed to be humorous, but it gets very tiresome. When that gets over with, this episode gets a lot better.
