When they approach the planet, suddenly the darts are destroyed by an energy beam, leaving the jumper unharmed. Curious about the civilization possessing this kind of technology they descend to find a simple, but very religious society. The people from Proculis claim to have never heard about the Wraith. - Approaching a planet even the Athosians never contacted, Sheppard's ship is mysteriously saved from a Wraith squadron by a white appearance destroying them. The planet people live a pacific paradise, blissfully unaware of Wraith or any violence for many centuries. When the local abbots bring them to high priestess Chaya Sar, McKay gets ever more annoyed by constant referral to the local deity Athar, who refuses to allow any refugees seeking shelter, as she only cares for her own people. John however is charmed and invites Chaya to Atlantis, where Weir grants her access to the library on earth spirituality and romance blossoms between her and Sheppard. McKay gets her to confirm his suspicions after Bennett's medical check proved impossibly perfect health: Chaya is Athar, an atypical Ancient.
