The documentarian still a thorn in their side, SGC encounters an unforeseen predicament. With half of SG-13 off-world engaging enemy Jaffa, SG teams 1, 5, and 7 go in as backup. In the midst of heavy fire, O'Neill takes a staff blast to the chest. Many deaths from the encounter hit SGC hard and Senator Kinsey orders a full investigation into the matter.—trekkie4christ

With SG-13 having walked into a Goa'uld trap, General Hammond sends in several SG teams, including SG-1, to help them. A bad situation turns worse resulting in the death of a prominent member of the SGC. Senator Kinsey assigns Richard Woolsey to undertake a complete investigation of what some see as a fiasco and incompetence on General Hammond's part. Documentary filmmaker Emmet Bregman, meanwhile, isn't pleased at being left out of all the action. The rescue party for SG-13 under Jaffa attack at the Ancient ruins, by SG-1, 5, and 7, turns out a bloody disaster, with doc Janet Frasier among the casualties. General Hammond is most defensive, tipped off by Sam's Pentagon contact, that vindictive senator Kinsey got the president to assign financial auditor Richard Woolsey to evaluate SGC's alleged inefficiency in dollars and lives, without democratic scrutiny. Hostility toward documentary filmmaker Emmet Bregman, who continues to hunt for footage and interview staff, is disproved, as he handles as sensitively as once in Vietnam, winning Daniel's trust and delivering a movie Hammond regrets to be kept within the military due to security.—KGF Vissers
