- Jared Kane of the Rand Protectorate contacts the SGC seeking their help. Their war with the Caledonian Federation has continued but now the balance of power has shifted dramatically. Several months before, just around the time the protectorate fell out of favor with the SGC, they were contacted by the Ori who promised them a weapon in return for adopting origin. The leaders of the Rand Protectorate accepted and that weapon, an orbiting satellite, is now functional. Kane wants them to destroy the satellite before it can cause any further damage. When Daniel returns with Kane to his home world, they are promptly arrested and jailed.—garykmcd
- Pacifistic Senator Jared Kane of the Rand Protectorate asks a fellow scientist for help as his nation converted to Origin after a plague, and was rewarded with the design for a powerful satellite weapon, which they used to threaten to annihilate their unconverted Caledonian hereditary rival neighbors. Arriving by Stargate, Daniel is locked up as spy, with Jared as traitor, pending trial and execution. When Prometheus tries to disable the satellite it destroys the ship, although most of the crew escape to Caledonia. While Carter finds a way to disable the Rand HQ, Daniel mediates an alternative between warlike, Ori-fanatical President Nadal -aided by realistic military chief Pernaux- and Caledonian Minister Chaska, whom Carter convinces is their only hope. All SGC troops that escaped to Ethon ultimately return to Earth through the planet's Stargate, but after doing so, the deal between Rand and Caledonia is broken, and the two nations annihilate each other.—KGF Vissers
