- SG-1 makes first contact with the planet Pangar. It seems to be a peaceful world that have recently discovered ancient Goa'uld ruins. They offer Earth their greatest discovery, a drug called Tretonin, which they say keeps them entirely disease free. In return, they want the gate addresses for specific worlds, most of which turn out to be Goa'uld home worlds. An investigation further reveals that the wonder drug is based on Goa'uld symbiotes and the Pangarans reveal another secret - they have a symbiote queen, found in the ancient ruins. When a Pangaran guard is seriously injured, SG-1 asks the Tok'ra for help. They soon realize that the queen is the founder of their race.—garykmcd
- SG-1 arrives at the planet Pangar for a meeting with their amicable people. While O'Neill and Sam meet with Dollen and Commander Tegar for commercial business, Quinn and Teal'c help the scientist Zenna Valk to decipher ancient Goa'uld ruins that they have recently found. The Pangarans offer a drug called Tretonin that keeps the user healthy, and they ask for the addresses of dangerous Goa'uld worlds without explanation. Dr. Fraiser analyzes the drug and concludes the Pangarans are using a symbiote to prepare Tretonin. However, Teal'c and Quinn snoop around and find another secret that will affect their relationship with the Tok'ra.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- SG-1 is on a diplomatic mission to pacifistic, somewhat less developed, planet Pangar, which discovered Goa'uld ruins and a stargate a century ago and asks only for gate addresses to 'interesting' (actually system lord controlled) planets in exchange for the panacea Tretonin they developed. It turns out, when Jonas and Teal'c stumble into a factory, Tretonin is made by using Goa'uld symbiotes. Archaeologist Zenna Valk, whom Jonas helps decipher the temple ruin hieroglyphs, hesitantly helps discover the truth, completed by Dr. Fraiser's sample examination: the drug wears out over time, spelling doom at later ages for the 'happy fifth' of the population. Tok'ra Malek's effort to fix that stumbles upon an even greater surprise: the symbiotes come from one mother, Egeria, the mythical queen the Tok'ra believed dead for centuries, who explains about the tragic genetic events before dying.—KGF Vissers
- SG-1 is negotiating a treaty with the inhabitants of Pangar. They have something miraculous to offer - a drug they call Tretonin that can cure any ill. But there is a catch: the drug replaces the user's immune system and must be taken forever. The Pangarans want specific world coordinates in exchange for the drug - and some of those places are the homes of powerful system lords. They won't explain why, but it clearly has to do with Tretonin. Then the Tok'ra, called in to help solve the problem, make a startling discovery about the ultimate source of Tretonin.—CommanderBalok
