So I have to say: I am completely convinced by this second-rate Voyager cast. Replacement Chakotay is almost as bad as the original and 5'3" doppelganger Tuvok has really taken to heart in evaluating every situation and comment using logical deduction. And B-movie Janeway impersonator with ill-fitting wig basically does exactly what many reviewers have repeatedly demanded of the real Janeway: make a few deals, take advantage of the other side and use dubious tricks to get home faster.
This episode is refreshingly different. Lighter, shallower and intentionally a little over-the-top. But nonetheless, the plot sounds quite plausible. A group of grifters pose as the Voyager crew and basically pull off the old "Nigerian prince" and dating and online shopping scams - in a modified form, of course. But apparently there are still enough gullible people in the future who click on every link in an email or text message and believe every story, no matter how crazy.
Paris and Neelix are also pretty funny in this episode. After being the ones who were duped by the impostors, they doubt their ability to see through such games. They quickly turn the tables and end up beating the fraudsters at their own game. Rogue honor restored!
