Star Trek: The Next Generation

Continuity

When Troi is talking to Riker in Ten Forward, she has her hands folded together in front shots and her arms folded in shots from the side.

Factual errors

It is stated repeatedly that the two-dimensional creatures are moving at a constant speed towards the cosmic string. The crew assumes that is because of the gravitational pull of the cosmic string. If the cosmic string's gravity was moving the creatures, they would be accelerating, yet they remain at a steady speed.

Plot holes

The ship is caught in a field of two-dimensional objects, which can't be seen edge-on. The crew only figure this out by launching a probe up above the ship. But the ship is 42 decks tall: if the two-dimensional objects are not visible from one deck, they should be visible by looking out the window on any other deck.
The Enterprise is able to (repeatedly) fire off probes and photon torpedoes, proving that, while the ship as a whole is caught in the two-dimensional wake, objects leaving it are not. Yet, no one suggests attempting to even partially evacuate by launching shuttles, life pods, or even separating the saucer and stardrive sections (as Data's model indicates that the two-dimensional plane with which they've become entwined only intersects the saucer). They all behave as though the whole ship and crew are trapped and doomed to destruction without a plan to free the entire vessel.

Character error

Troi says the alien swarm is drawn toward the anomaly by desire or instinct, as a moth is drawn toward a candle flame. This is a common misconception. Moths mistake the light source for the moon which they use for navigation, but the proximity of the source sends the moth spiraling around it, based on the moth's judgmental error in physics, not desire or instinct.
When Picard orders Worf to fire a half a dozen photon torpedoes into the path of the two-dimensional creatures, the view screen and sound effects clearly indicate that Worf only fired five.
When the Enterprise is trying to get the attention of the two-dimensional creatures, they fire photon torpedoes 7 km in front of the beings. Worf states that he has fired, then states that it is 5 seconds till detonation. When that doesn't work, they fire directly into the field of beings. This is at least 7 km closer to the Enterprise, but Worf still states that it takes at least 5 seconds for the torpedoes to reach their destination and detonate.
