Two characters discuss former Boston mayor James Michael Curley (1914-'18, '22-'26, '30-'32 and '46-'50). During his last term in office, Curley was convicted on federal charges and spent a portion of 1947 in federal prison. He was pardoned by President Truman and resumed his duties as mayor of Boston.
