With Zoe working undercover as a public relations specialist, she finds herself attending a reception at the Turkish Consulate when it's taken over by Kurdish terrorists. They want friends and family released from prison or they threaten to kill all of the hostages. MI-5 is surprised to learn that the terrorists are being helped by Johnny Marks, a freelancer once used by the Security Service but thought to have been killed in Northern Ireland 15 years before. Marks was disliked by many as being mainly concerned for his own well-being but he and Tessa Phillips were lovers at one time. True to form, he has his own agenda and is using the attack on the Consulate as a diversion for his own operation.
