Final mention of Dr. Mathias, as Anton Phillips had left the show after the previous episode (The Exiles (1976)), not being happy with being paid per episode appearance as opposed to being under contract as he had been for season one (a cost-cutting measure for most of the season two supporting players), along with his role in the series now amounting to little more than cameos. Even Zienia Merton ended up leaving after her third episode, only to return later in the season. Producer Fred Freiberger was asked later by the press why Merton had missed so many episodes, which he replied that they had "lent her out" to other productions (which would've been impossible since she was not under contract), not wanting to admit that she'd left due to Season Two's pay standards.

During the show's original run, this and All That Glisters (1976) (the third and fourth episodes in season two's production order) were both held over until much later in the season in the U.S. running order.
The choreographer of the climactic "dance" scene, Lionel Blair, requested that the sequence be accompanied by Gino Vannelli's "Storm at Sun-Up". Season Two's soundtrack composer, Derek Wadsworth, covered the song as an instrumental for the episode, which was so elaborate it prevented a totally original score from being recorded for the episode (a strict time limit was given for original music in each episode), utilizing several tracks from The Exiles (1976).
Originally titled "One Second of Humanity", filmed March 4th through the 17th 1976.
