Not a favourite episode of mine, but some fun moments.

Frank and Betty are excited about setting off for pastures new in Australia, but first they have to visit Australia house, and sort their paperwork out.

It's been a very funny third series, if I'm truly honest, I think this is the weakest episode from the final series.

Diana King is funny as the language teacher, a fine comedy actress, her character was amusing, the necessity for a teacher has seemed a little contrived, as I think Frank has gone a little too over the top in the last few, his character is just too much. He's almost becoming a caricature of himself.

Good to see Edward Hardwicke, known to many as Jeremy Brett's Doctor Watson, but at this point in his career he was a very capable comedy actor.

I'm not sure Australia could have dealt with Frank Spencer.

6/10.

Is Australia ready for Frank Spencer?

Warning: Spoilers
Frank is having elocution lessons from Miss Butler ( Diana King ). The reason? He and Betty and little Jessica have decided to go and live in Australia with Frank's grandfather ( Dick Bentley ).

Frank and Mr.Lewis ( Glynn Edwards ) get into an argument into who borrowed what tools. It culminates with the feisty neighbour accidentally smashing his own greenhouse.

With Betty in tow, Frank visits Australia House to apply for citizenship. He meets Mr.Lawrence ( Edward Hardwicke ) and proceeds to drive him bonkers. Finding a broken chair leg in the man's office, he thinks it is a boomerang. When a weeping Hardwicke tells him to "Go!", he thinks the man is telling him he can go and live Down Under...

The final episode of Season 3, but 'Frank Spencer' returned on Christmas Day 1978 for one final Special. Retro programmes about the '70's go on at length about the massive audiences for Eric and Ernie's shows, but rarely if ever mention the equally impressive audiences for other shows, such as 'Some Mothers'. Edward Hardwicke had previously appeared as 'Mr.Hooper' in Season 1's 'The Employment Exchange'.

Funniest moment - Frank trying to fix someone's broken boiler. After blowing their house up, he leaves, and says: "Any problems, give me a call!".
