This is the first episode of "The Snoop Sisters" after the pilot, and there are a few changes.

Art Carney no longer plays an ex-cop who drives for them. He has been replaced by Lou Antonio as Barney, who is on parole. And instead of Lawrence Pressman as their nephew, we have Bert Convy.

Ernesta receives a call from an old man who owns a toy company. He wants to build a doll based on one of her book characters. It's odd, because it's late at night, but the sisters go to his place anyway. They're arrested, along with Barney. When Ernesta explains that she received a call from Mr. Birdwell, her nephew Stephen, a police lieutenant, thinks this is a great feat - the man has been dead for three months.

Ernesta becomes convinced that Birdwell is alive, and that his death was faked in order to keep the company afloat by cashing in his life insurance.

Really good story with lots of comic touches, including the two women standing on a car to see in a window -- unfortunately, Ernesta forgot to put the car in park.

The cast is terrific, and includes Geraldine Page as an hilarious dog lover, Sam Jaffe as a bizarre inventor, Victor Buono as a doctor, and Neva Patterson as an employee of the toy company.

Wish there were more of these. They're really fun, and Hayes and Natwick as Ernesta and Gwendolyn are just great.
