- AnecdotesDavid refers to "an autistic woman who designs slaughterhouses and has a machine to hug her"; this would likely be Temple Grandin.
- GaffesWhen Ruth looks at the pictures of her children in the sun porch at the end of the episode, you can see a reflection in the fifth picture of the crew members hand holding the camera.

Claire Fisher: I don't see why this person has to be mentally ill just because she had a life that doesn't conform to some familiar image we have in our heads. Maybe she was living the life that she wanted, a life without the hassle of other people.

Loneliness and Invisibility
When the lonely forty and something years Emily Previn chokes to death, he body is found only one week later, and the Fisher's funeral service had been previously hired by Emily herself many years ago with very specific instructions. However, Nate is not able to contact any friend from the list of contact previously delivered by Emily. Meanwhile, Brenda decides to write a book, and without inspiration, she has lunch with her shiatsu's client Melissa, who is a prostitute. Brenda passively participates of an appointment of Melissa, watching her oral sex with a perverted client that requests audience of another woman. Claire is studying for an examination and finds that her girlfriend Parker McKenna is cheating the exams, and she becomes very upset with Parker and her counselor Gary Deitman. Keith is pressed by his nasty niece, and kills an armed addicted junkie and meets David, who started a romance with Benjamin Cooper. Brenda proposes Nate to get married with her, and he accepts.
"The Invisible Woman" is another great episode of "Six Feet Under", where loneliness is approached in a very dramatic way. It shows how sad can be the life of a person without friends. Along the story, Brenda becomes also one "invisible person", and it seems that her experience with Melissa changed her behavior and feelings with Nate for the good. Claire seems to be reaching maturity, being very unstable and supported by her school counselor. David is shared between his love for Keith and the beginning of a relationship with Benjamin Cooper. My vote is eight.
