Histoire
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesThe portion of the episode where characters quote the Bible in support or opposition of clowning were carefully researched. Cited passages from the Bible include Exodus 20:12 and Joshua 1:8. The quotations from the Talmud were also researched, and two rabbis, Lavi Meier and Harold M. Schulweis, were credited as "special technical consultants". Schulweis was asked to take a look at a draft of the script. While not a fan of the show, he felt "it was profound" and added some corrections. He later commented, "I thought it had a Jewish resonance to it. I was impressed by the underlying moral seriousness."

Another Krusty episode
At least this is one episode giving more on Krusty the clown, like his name: Herschel Krustofsky, and his Jewish heritage.
For most of the episode, it's hard not to choke up with Krusty breaking down over his reminiscent of his estranged rabbi father who disowned him (much deserved in EastEnders' Ian and Steven Beale) and then the ending of their reconciliation. I'm not knowledgeable about Jewish community, yet I wouldn't know how much time it took for Bart and Lisa convince Hyman that entertainers are part of Jewish community and Sammy Davis Jr.
Another of Bart and Lisa teamwork abilities just like foiling Sideshow Bob schemes - speaking of which, Krusty's secretary gives Krusty reality check on his fan Bart Simpson - who helped exonerate Krusty after being framed for armed robbery by Sideshow Bob - yet, came after the trial verdict. If Krusty hadn't dinner with Bart, then wouldn't have this episode.
