When homer is about to take the first cannonball to the chest he pulls his goggles down over his eyes and gets into position. After the hit, the view zooms out and Homer's goggles are back on his forehead.
There should be something behind Homer to stop the cannon ball in case it misses the target, like it did.
Billy Corgan was bald by that year.
You can hear the crowd cheering Homer after stopping the cannon ball, but they stand still.
