- Jillian Borson: Till death do us part.
- Dan Borson: What's that supposed to mean?
- Jillian Borson: Well, that's what we promised, remember?
- [as he hugs her, repeats softly:]
- Jillian Borson: Till death do us part.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: You wanna talk unnatural acts, Cotton? Do ten to twenty years in a Federal prison for fraud.
- Beth Snow: Yes, I was Mr. Borson's secretary, but I don't understand why you wanna talk to me.
- Sgt. Chris Lorenzo: Ms. Snow, we're sorry about your loss. But there's really no way to dance around this. We understand that you and Danny Borson were having an affair.
- Beth Snow: [struggles to give tearful answer] He loved me.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: Do you know anyone who might have wanted him dead?
- Beth Snow: Only his wife.
- Jillian Borson: [her turn in the interrogation room] That is a lie!
- [gathers herself]
- Jillian Borson: The tramp would do anything to ruin my life.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: Then you knew about the affair?
- Jillian Borson: Yes. Danny told me himself about it a month ago.
- Sgt. Chris Lorenzo: [scene shifts back to Beth's interrogation] What did he say?
- Beth Snow: He said she went crazy and threw things. It was so unnerving he was afraid to tell her he wanted a divorce.
- Jillian Borson: [scene shifts back] I was the one who brought up the divorce.
- [obviously grasps for words]
- Jillian Borson: He cried like a baby, and begged for me to give him another chance.
- Beth Snow: [scene shifts back again] Daniel said there hadn't been a marriage for a long time.
- [sighs, hand in hair]
- Beth Snow: He cried in my arms all night, despondent that he'd thrown the best years of his life away.
- Jillian Borson: [and back again] Uneducated, soulless whore! Trapped him with sex! Apparently she was willing to do *anything!*
- Beth Snow: [and back again] His wife was kinky. She liked to tie him up and... do really sick stuff. Daniel wasn't like that.
- [shakes her head]
- Beth Snow: He just wanted to be held. To be loved.
- Jillian Borson: [and back again] He described her as clawing. Out for the money.
- Beth Snow: [and again...] His wife married him for his money. She even made him increase his life insurance policy to a million dollars.
- Jillian Borson: [and again...] There's nothing wrong with that! Daniel is the only breadwinner! If something should happen to him... Oh!
- [sobs]
- Jillian Borson: The money's to be used to keep the house!
- [breaks down]
- Beth Snow: [back with Beth] She's rich now. Which is all she ever wanted.
- [tearfully:]
- Beth Snow: With Daniel gone... I've lost the one thing... I ever really cared about.
- Jillian Borson: [back with Jillian] No matter what... Beth says... Daniel and I... were in love. *Their affair was over.*
- Beth Snow: [with Beth again] He'd made up his mind to divorce Jillian. We decided to move away. To start over.
- Jillian Borson: [switching back to Jillian] Beth couldn't stand the *thought* of being jilted. I hate to think this, but I think she killed him.
- Beth Snow: [back to Beth] Jillian's attitude was that if she couldn't have him, no one could.
- [leans forward]
- Beth Snow: I think she killed her own husband.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: [switches off recordings] Classic love triangle turns deadly. So what do you think, Lieutenant?
- Lt. Hudson: Two suspects. Not bad for a day's work.
- [to Chris:]
- Lt. Hudson: What are you gonna do for an encore?
- Sgt. Chris Lorenzo: Whittle it down to one.
