Carrie dates an author Vaughn Wysel who has a premature ejaculation problem... He has a perfect family with Sisters Franny (Colleen Werthmann) and Zoey (Meg Gibson), Dad Duncan (David McCallum) who teaches Culture at Columbia Uni and Mom Wallis (Valerie Harper). They make Carrie feel warm and welcome in 5 minutes of meeting her. Wallis has just completed a documentary on genital mutilation. The family is perfect, but the sex with Vaughn is unsatisfying. It is over even before it starts. Samantha tells Carrie to back out, and quickly. But Miranda wants to give him another chance. Carrie wonders that when you date, are you dating the family or just the individual. Carrie is in awe of Wallis. Wallis (Valerie Harper) was nominated for an Oscar, served in Nicaragua in the peace corps. She is a role model to Carrie. Wallis adores Carrie for her contributions to society. Wallis says that she always was truthful to her kids about sex and that's why they share everything with her today.

But be that as it may, Vaughn simply can't hold his erections. Vaughn is sick of talking about sex, and wont on his premature ejaculation problem with Carrie.

Vaughn snaps in front of his parents and Carrie knows she has to leave. Her mother tries to convince Carrie to stay, saying that 77% of all marriages are sexless. Carrie realizes that she needs to break up with Wallis and not Vaughn. She gets out.

Child-phobic Miranda dates a divorced father Roger Cobb (Jake Burbage) who has a son, Simon (Nikko Dayton). She meets Roger at her gym on family day, when Roger had brought Simon with him. Roger is the holy grail, he is sweet, sensitive and wants to be married. But Miranda feels dating a divorced man is like chewing someone else's gum. Plus, he has a kid. Samantha says that divorced men come with baggage. Miranda is definitely not comfortable with the kid, but Roger is sweet and mature. He is the heterosexual Holy Grail.

But then she has sex with Roger. She is naked in the bathroom, when Simon tries to come in. She slams the door shut and it hurts Simon on the forehead. Roger asks Miranda to leave.

Charlotte's brother Wesley (Jack Mulcahy) stays with her after his wife Leslie leaves him. Charlotte is very protective of Wesley. Wesley needs vodka, but Charlotte keeps giving him muffins to cheer him up. Charlotte wants Wesley to keep working on his marriage with Leslie and says that relationships are hard work. Wesley retorts that Charlotte has never been in a long-term relationship and hence has no clue. Wesley meets Samantha when Carrie brings her along to her meeting with Charlotte and Wesley. Within minutes, Wesley is off with Samantha to a Jazz bar.

Samantha gives Charlotte's brother what he really needs: sex. But when Charlotte finds out she snaps at Samantha, and she ends up leaving in a huff. But then Wesley tells Charlotte that Leslie was frigid and he hadn't been laid for 2 years. Samantha did Charlotte a favor by sleeping with Wesley. Charlotte takes a basket to muffins to Samantha and apologizes to her.
