Carrie is bored as if there was no entertainment anywhere in New York, so she insists on celebrating Charlotte's 36th birthday together; Samantha had promised Richard to join him to Atlantic City, but when she tells him he invites the whole quartet to the Taj Mahal casino.—KGF Vissers

Carrie gets stood up for a blind date. Charlotte suggests that maybe the person came, saw her and left. Carrie cannot decide which one is worse. Carrie wants to stop trying, but Charlotte says that she cannot give up after one date. Carrie desperately tries to get everyone together for Charlotte's "thirty-faux" birthday. Miranda's nurse is quitting, so she is not sure she can make it and Samantha is going with Richard to Atlantic City.

Charlotte doesn't want to turn 36 because she feels she is not where she thought she would be when she turns 36. She decides that she will remain 35, as men are much more interested in meeting 35-year-olds. Carrie persists in getting the band together for Charlotte's birthday. Miranda gets Steve to look after the baby and Charlotte agrees to celebrate if nobody mentions the number 36. Richard asks Samantha to bring the girls over to Atlantic city.

But Steve panics at the last minute that he will kill the baby and returns her to Miranda. Steve says that he is OK with the baby for 2-3 hours but post that he doesn't really know what to do and gets really scared that things might go wrong. Carrie pays Magda to step in and help Steve over the weekend. Miranda goes to Atlantic City with the girls, feeling self-conscious about her weight. She and Carrie catch a bus since they missed Richard's flight. Richard and Samantha are in a raunchy mood the entire flight, making Charlotte super uncomfortable. She has to take up knitting during the flight to help her calm down and focus her attention elsewhere.

Carrie takes the girls for a celebratory dinner. Samantha is paranoid that Richard is cheating with the entire female hotel staff. Even in Atlantic city, big buxom hotel staff named Denise (Victoria Labalme) greets Richard and suggestively try to seduce him. Samantha runs after Richard to keep Denise off him. Since Samantha is gone, Carrie cannot get her commemorative photo with the 4 girls together. Charlotte is depressed at turning "old".

The girls hit the Casino. Charlotte is further angered when Carrie is referred to as the "hot one" and blows dice for a fat gambler. The guy wins $12000 and tips her $1000. Miranda is excited and decides to coach Carrie on how to gamble and multiply her money. But then Miranda goes to pump her breast milk, and Charlotte leaves angry and depressed.

Carrie learns to play roulette from the hotel TV. The next morning, Samantha finds that the hotel maid is also buxom and knows Richard. Samantha scares her off. She has sex with Richard for 3 hours in an attempt to exhaust his sexual appetite.

Miranda and Carrie are at the slot machines when Samantha joins them. Charlotte joins them looking hot and glamorous, and far from a 36-year-old woman. Miranda is angered when a gambler asks her to bet or move her fat ass. She retires to her room hurt. Richard calls Samantha that he has a conference call and asks her to go to the fight by herself. Samantha is sure that Richard is having sex and climbs 11 flights of stairs (the lifts were busy) to confront him.

Samantha is paranoid that Richard is cheating on her and returns his ring back. Charlotte wants to hook up with guys at the casino, but Carrie says that the girls should enjoy each other's company as the odd of them hitting of with any of the guys is really low.

Carrie bets on number 36 at the roulette and loses. The girls go back to NYC in a bus and Carrie finally gets a picture of all the 4 girls together.
