- The women head to the Hamptons for the wedding of a flamboyant lounge singer; Charlotte's affair with her lawyer takes an interesting turn.
- The girls have a all with entertainer Bobby Fine, but are baffled when the ever presumed homo announces his marriage to society lady Bitsy von Muffling. Charlotte announces her improbable relationship with her all but classy Jewish lawyer 'hairy' Harry, with the best sex ever, and decides to go to the wedding with him. First Samantha invites the girls and many guests to Richard's villa in the Hamptons, but finds her host-skills more challenged then expected, notably by some young girls who claim Richards standing invitation to use his pool. At the marriage just about everybody plays some charade, or is supposed to- even Stanfords super-hunky lover Marcus no longer does him in bed.—KGF Vissers
- The girls attend the Hamptons wedding of an over-the-hill socialite Bitsy (Julie Halston) (who was Samantha's ex-client) and a lounge singer Bobby Fine (Nathan Lane) whom they all thought was gay. Carrie predicts that Bobby will never marry Bitsy as he has a habit and a past of making promises and then running away from them. Miranda is not convinced that Bobby and Bitsy are in love. She calls it a marriage of convenience and a compromise. Carrie wonders if a relationship like marriage can exist without sex.
Charlotte goes public with her relationship with Harry. Harry is bald and short, and talks with his mouth full, but the sex is great. Harry agrees to get his hairy back waxed if Charlotte agrees to go with him to the wedding. Harry is invited since he handled Bitsy's divorce.
Miranda gets more comfortable with the baby and with her role as a mother. She even has sex with Steve, as he remains involved in taking care of Miranda.
Samantha throws a huge party at Richard Wright's (James Remar) Hamptons house over a weekend. She gets that from Richard as a "settlement" from the divorce of a thing that is as close to a marriage that they are both every going to get. Richard agrees, but some of his random one-night stands show up at the day of the party and said Richard told them that they could hang by the pool. Soon, the girls remove their tops at the pool side in the middle of Samantha's A-list party. Harry has got his back waxed but has a reaction and it's all red and swollen. Charlotte doesn't see Harry as A-List material, but he is persistent and loves Charlotte despite all her negativity towards him.
Carrie encounters Jack Berger again in the Hamptons. He is now single. Carrie invites Jack to Samantha's party.
Stanford comes with Marcus, and it's clear to everyone except Bitsy that Bobby is hitting on Marcus. Jack comes to meet Carrie at the party and runs away after Carrie starts talking about her 2 break up with Aidan and openly articulating if she is capable of surviving many more of such breakups, indicating that she might not be looking for a serious relationship. Carrie realizes that she discouraged Jack with all her negative talk about breakups, as he leaves very quickly.
Samantha snaps at the girls and throws a cantaloupe at them which ends up breaking Richard's glass door pane. Samantha realizes her mistake, the minute she did it. She allowed Richard's one night stand posse to get to her.
Bobby and Bitsy get married eventually at their Hamptons venue. Looking at Bobby and Bitsy, Carrie realizes that so long as 2 people are in love, they can make anything work. Harry is charming with Charlotte and the girls like him. Charlotte is falling for him, but Harry tells her that he is Hebrew and has to marry a fellow Hebrew.
Jack returns and admits that he got scared of Carrie, but says he wants to date her. Jack and Carrie share a dance at Bitsy's wedding.
