Warning: Spoilers
In "The Butter Shave", Kramer starts using butter as shaving cream before deciding to put it all over his body and suntanning. Elaine goes to Europe with Puddy and they are quickly at each others throats, only to have to fly back together. George is hired by a new form who thinks he's handicapped since he is using a cane to recover from his accident. Jerry is mad that Bania is following in his footsteps: dating an old flame, getting laughs after Jerry opens for him, etc.

We start off the final season with a rather amusing mustache gimmick which I enjoyed. All the subplots work on some level. I enjoy Bania but that subplot is probably my least favorite one of this episode. I also love Puddy but their back and forth squabbling doesn't do much for me. Kramer and George are both great in this one though.

Kramer Is a Turkey

Final season. This one is fragmented and bizarre. It begins with George getting a new job. He works for a sporting goods company. What he does is not important--it is really nothing. But he shows up with a cane and the boss assumes he's handicapped and makes all sorts of special arrangements for him. The problem is trying to keep up the ruse. Kramer uses butter for a tanning lotion, falls asleep, and begins to smell like a Butterball turkey. Elaine runs off to Norway with Puddy. The two of them are at each other's throats the whole time. And Bania works to show Jerry up as a comedian. One of the funnier scenes is George being pursued on a senior scooter by a group of old people. This is categorically weird in every respect.

Allegory and all

Warning: Spoilers
I remember seeing The Butter Shave back in the late 1990s, when this debuted, an I'm enjoying reflecting upon this episode an other episodes now that I'm re-watching them. The Butter Shave, well I like the allegory of Seinfeld being the show that gave lesser-quality shows the chance to shine in the prime post-Seinfeld timeslot under NBC's must see tv that dominated Thursday night viewing, and here it's Seinfeld upset that his top-notch act is giving legs to Bania's sub-rate act. The butter shave plot didn't really do much and kind of got silly with Newman and all. George's act of being disabled lost its humor after awhile.

Great episode.

Warning: Spoilers
The Plot: Kramer starts using butter to wear when he tans but it eventually fries him. Newman eventually wants to eat him. George gets a job at Play now and acts like he is still a cripple. Elaine takes Puddy to Europe and on the way back they keep breaking up and getting back together.

The butter shave, like all Seinfeld episodes, is hilarious. I have reviewed many Seinfeld episodes and given almost all of them a 10. I was glad to see Puddy return. Puddy is a great character who is really stupid. The Butter shave is a great episode of Seinfeld, like all of them.

Cannibalism. Wow. When you are winding down. Resort to Cannibalism.

March 8th 2023

About: Kramer uses butter over his body.

George gets a new job and they think he is a handicapped person.

Jerry bombs to sabotage Bania.

Elaine is a Bword.

Newman wants to eat Kramer because he's plastered in butter.

Story and production: The only interesting storyline was Jerry wanting to bomb and George pulling a George.

Elaine's story was annoying and tedius. It was about her being a Bword to Puddy. Puddy didn't do anything to deserve so much backlash.

Overall, a meh of a production. Elaine's story really hurt the episode. And a bit about cannibalism isn't my area.

Villain: Jerry for being unprofessional and Elaine for being a Bword.

Laugh Meter: 3

What can be learned?: Skip this episode.

Verdict: Worse Seinfeld episode.
