- Jerry's car is stolen, and he has a conversation with the thief (Larry David) on the car phone. Kramer asks for his gloves from the car thief. The thief refuses to return the car and plans to drive around in it. The thief says that he didn't cross any wires and the keys were inside the car. Jerry's car was being managed by Sid. Sid charges $50/month and manages about 40-50 cars on the block and works 3 hours a day. When Jerry talks to Sid, he says that maybe he is getting old to manage these many cars.
George takes a job moving cars from one side of the street to the other, covering Sid's (Jay Brooks) shifts while he travels to visit his sick nephew. George has to do this to comply with alternate side parking regulations, in which he does a predictably shoddy job. Sid moves car for the entire block, so that the owners avoid a parking fine. George wants to take this job as he is in between jobs and can use the money.
Woody Allen is shooting a film in New York, right on Jerry's block. Kramer has the part of an extra on the movie. Kramer slips up during one of his scenes and makes Woody laugh. So, now Kramer has a line in the movie. Kramer gets a line in a Woody Allen film, "These pretzels are making me thirsty!" All four of the main characters use the line at least once during the episode, further popularizing the expression.
Jerry is forced to rent a car since his own car is stolen and George gets the job to park it. Elaine is dating a 66-year-old man named Owen. She tells Jerry that Owen is really vibrant, and she likes being with him. But soon, Elaine tells Jerry that she does not like spending time with Owen. She has been on 7 dates with him, so Jerry says that the breakup has to be face to face, unless there was no sex involved. Owen has a stroke just before Elaine is about to break up with him. Elaine was walking around when this happened, and she had no choice but to bring Owen to Jerry's apartment. Kramer joins them, while they wait for the ambulance. They discuss if they should put his head or feet up. Maybe walk him around. Give him some sugar, in case he has diabetes. Kramer suggests that he may have a drug overdose.
George then causes a car collision and traffic jam, making it take longer for the ambulance to reach Elaine's boyfriend, which causes additional neural damage that could have been prevented. Due to the major inconveniences because of the delays caused by George, a disgruntled Woody Allen says that he may never shoot a movie in New York ever again. George damages many cars including Jerry's rental.
Additionally, George's poor performance causes many of Sid's long-time customers to cancel, therefore causing Sid a loss of income. This results in Sid being unable to finance his nephew's operation to save his foot, which must now be amputated. Jerry finds that the insurance won't cover the damage to his rental, as he was only covered if he was driving the car at the time of the accident. He has to pay $2866. Elaine breaks up with Owen when she goes to his home to feed him.
While filming a shot during the movie, Kramer slams down his beer mug on the bar and accidentally injures Allen with a flying shard of glass. He subsequently gets fired from the set. Also, Kramer gets the brown gloves from the car thief but has no information about the car which irritates Jerry.
