Competitive tension creeps into Evan and Jemima's relationship. He tries to break up with her by sleeping with somebody else, but when he confesses, he's bemused by her reaction.

After another visit by Francesca and repeatedly exhaustive phone calls to his children, Gabrielle gets sick of Dominic's attachments. But not selfishly. Its just she can't handle the fact that she'll always be that little addition to the family. So she makes the hardest decision yet and goes through with it. Dominic moves out of her life. Just as she gets upset Jason drops by (after a few cute and memorable moments between Jason and Angus) and he hugs her tightly. Alex is sitting at the bar when she discovers that her and Christian have a few things in common but are also extremely different. After a night of flirting she wakes up the next morning to discover that she slept with him. They agree to keep it secret even managing to hide it from Miranda, who discovers her own one-woman show whilst admitting that she had Anorexia when she was younger. Evan cheats to get Jemima to dump him and eventually she catches on and dumps him after she leads him to believe that they want to see other people, leaving Evan with a bitter taste in his mouth. Meanwhile Kelly and Nathan receive visits by the other's relatives in a bid to try and not change the other's religious beliefs. They both agree to do nothing about it for the moment as its not like their going to get married anytime soon. And during all this Richie's sitting at the bar with a constant friend during the entire episode (which appears to be over 3 nights) whom he met at the same time as Alex with Christian, chatting away.

But Jemima has the last laugh and they're soon breaking up for real. Good intentions aren't enough to keep Gabrielle and Dominic together. Gab's feeling a poor second to his family and after days of relentless squabbling she asks him to move. He takes her at her word, and she's devastated. Kelly has coffee with Nathan's mum and her Nana pays a visit on Nathan. When both women point out the huge gulf between Kelly and Nathan, it actually brings them closer together. Jason's enjoying hanging out with Angus. He takes his son to the Fu Bar one night and Evan uses him as a "chick magnet". Christian teaches Alex about the plants on the roof and then he tells her she's beautiful. They have sex at his place, and in the morning Alex hides from Miranda. It's their delicious little secret. Miranda's still searching for the right play to perform. After reading many, she finds one that moves her to tears and prompts her to reveal a secret from her past.
