Hard to take very seriously, but enjoyable.

"The Direct Approach" is all about a standoff between folks trying to build a bridge and a retired General's campaign to stop them. The General even takes a few shots at the men and instead of seeing this as attempted murder, the film takes the comedic approach to this gunplay. It also is about the General's granddaughter (Mona Freeman) who is inexplicably in love with the foreman of the bridge project...though they never dated or spent a lot of time together.

This is one of those 'turn your brain off and enjoy' sort of shows. While you like it, some of the details are pretty silly and make this a slight sort of production. Not bad...a good time-passer.

Not on my property

The classical topic of a man who refuses to sell his property to a huge construction conglomerate who wishes to take it away for financial purposes; here, building a bridge. The classical scheme of the man's daughter - here grand daughter - seducing someone working for this conglomerate - here a foreman - someone who will eventually help his new sweetheart against his own employers and their henchmen. A man who will have to make his own choice. This is not a thriller, not an action packed flick either, but rather a smooth and expected drama bringing nothing new, as you may have got after reading this comment.
