In his 2004 memoir "Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live", Jay Mohr reveals he almost came to blows with Adam Sandler backstage as they were about to perform the "Aerosmith's Greatest Hits" sketch. Mohr felt that Sandler was wearing a pair of sunglasses that made him look like Elton John instead of Steven Tyler, but Sandler disagreed. Jay then realized that Sandler was much better known and more popular than him and that he had been asked to be in the sketch by Sandler, and came to the conclusion that he should have acted more humble in this situation.
