- Harry plans a return to space to salvage a communications satellite, Telcom, that is loaded with gold. While Klinger impounds the Vulture, Skip, rehired by NASA, is trapped aboard a malfunctioning space station.
- Harry and his team, still riding high on the success of their venture into outer space, now set their sights on salvaging an old communications satellite that had been shielded in pure gold. Mel calculates that in its current rate of orbital decline, it should enter earth's atmosphere in about six weeks and burn up on re-entry. Harry, deciding to be completely open regarding his intent, informs Klinger of his plans. Soon Klinger, on orders from above, arrives at the junkyard and impounds the Vulture, leaving an army guard detail in place to ensure that it remains grounded. Meanwhile, NASA's mission to send a crew to their new space station is shelved due to lack of funding. However, Dr. Singleton realizes that he can get the funds necessary to complete the intended mission by exploiting Skip's new-found fame. Because the Vulture is temporarily grounded, Skip agrees to join the crew, astronauts that he had worked with when he was with NASA, as they head to the space station.—Harry Tumilson
