Robert Hays and Janet MacLachlan in The Rockford Files (1974)

Goofs

The Deep Blue Sleep

The Rockford Files

Edit

Continuity

When Rockford first commandeers the police car it has full wheel covers. The car switches between these and dog dish hubcaps a couple of times as Rockford pursues the Mercedes Benz around the warehouse.
In the previous episode Gearjamers, Rockfords car was blown up . In this episode he has his car with the same registration number as the one that was blown up (making this his third identical Firebird on the show so far, but not the last).

Factual errors

When Ray drives to Colman's house, where a murder has just been committed, he walks right in.There is no police tape designating it as a crime scene.

Miscellaneous

When Rockford calls Becker from a gas station pay phone, as he walks away the station's two real pay phone booths can be seen on the other side of the station.
Macklans Mercedes has a IMTS car phone in it which he answers at the warehouse. The car phone head is installed backwards in the car. As installed all the legends on the buttons and the dial would be upside down.
When Mr. Rockford 'borrows' a police car, the siren sounds mechanical, but it has an electronic siren.
Bob Coleman gets in his car to leave Clarke Fashions. Rockford is in his car and his rear view mirror is visible. Bob pulls into a parking lot and Rockford parks his car across the street. This time the rear view mirror is missing.
When Margo's Firebird is being pulled from the water, it's equipped with 1967 Ford wheel covers.

Errors in geography

When Jim calls for backup with the police car radio he says he is at 2365 South Derby. He is actually on the 7100 block of West Willoughby Avenue.
