The Attractive Nuisance

The Rockford Files

Edit

Factual errors

The legal doctrine of attractive nuisance is stated incorrectly. It only applies to small children and not to adults.

Anachronisms

LaSalle keeps a framed copy of a commendation letter from J. Edgar Hoover, dated February 12, 1931 and on Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) letterhead. However, in 1931 the organization was simply known as the Bureau of Investigation. It would go through several name changes before being finally renamed the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1935.

Errors in geography

At the beginning, Rocky is calling out to truckers on his CB traveling east and west on Interstate 5, Interstate 5 runs north and south.

Character error

During the beginning credits, Rocky is giving one of the truckers a smokey report. He says "There's a plain white wrapper with a bubblegum machine cruising south on the big 5". A plain white rapper is an unmarked police car, and a bubblegum machine is the light on top of a marked police car. So that can't be possible (unless Rocky was reporting that there were both a marked and unmarked cruiser driving together).
