Continuity

At one point Larry St. Cloud announces the UALI will have a press contact in the Hopalong Cassidy suite of the Gene Autry Hotel. Later, a TV reporter states he is broadcasting from the Gene Autry suite of the Hopalong Cassidy Hotel.
When Jim's talking with Mrs diAngelo (Fritzi Burr), at the Licensed Investigator's dinner, she's holding a glass of champagne in her hand - which has nails, and nail polish on them; but when the hand is in close-up, it's a man's larger hand, holding the glass differently, with short nails and no nail polish.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Lance takes Jim and Beamer to his office, Beamer remembers that when he went into the men's room he passed someone coming out. But when the program started, when Beamer went into the men's room, he did *not* pass anyone coming out.

No one is supposed to take Beemer seriously, and take anything he says with a grain of salt.
Beamer finds a dead body and runs away. Jim catches up to Beamer and in the process, knocks Beamers glasses of into some ground cover. On the way to the police station, in order to make a point, Jim throws his trophy out of his car window. The next morning, Jim bails out Beamer, who is then released. When Beamer leaves the police station he runs into Lance, who takes him away. Jim shows up as Lance and Beamer drive off. Jim then dumps his coffee and then goes to his car. While driving to his home, Lance finds out Beamer has lost his glasses. Lance goes to the spot where Beamer lost his glasses and immediately finds them. They then drive on and see Jim's car. Supposedly, Jim has gone to where he thinks he threw his trophy out of his car window. BUT Jim did not have time to get to his car, get into it, start it, drive past Lance and Beamer (whom he could not have helped noticing when he passed them, either on the road or when they were parked while Lance was immediately finding Beamers glasses), find that spot where his trophy might be, park his car, and start searching.

All of this assumes that Rockford drove the exact same route as Lance. He could have taken a short cut and gotten ahead of him.

Revealing mistakes

After the 00:37:00 mark, Rockford is in his trailer preparing a sandwich. But when he cuts a slice of bread, the whole counter with the plates on it, starts shaking, revealing that it is actually just a studio prop.

Miscellaneous

At 28 minutes Jim says, "If Freddie didn't kill Zinota, who did?" The name "Zinota" is overdubbed so badly as to be unintelligible.
