James Garner and Joe Santos in The Rockford Files (1974)

Goofs

Gearjammers, Part 2

The Rockford Files

Edit

Continuity

When Rockford and Rocky are driving over the Vincent Thomas bridge the rear sliding window is open and the camera is in the bed of the truck looking into the cab. Later when they are shot at the sliding window is closed.
The stopwatch controlling the bomb in Rockford's car is shown passing 40 seconds. After at least 5 seconds the next shot of the stopwatch is shown passing 30 seconds.

Factual errors

About half way through this part 2, Rocky, who is hiding out in Jim Rockford's trailer with Jim, peers outside and asks Jim are the men in the green Chevy. The two shots we get of the green Chevy are actually a 1974 Oldsmobile Delta 88 4 door hardtop, not a Chevy.
When Rockford and Rocky are shot at while driving Rocky's truck to the docks, the rear window is damaged but there is no damage to the windshield. The bullet would have passed through both the rear window and the windshield.

Revealing mistakes

Jim and Rocky start driving east over the Vincent Thomas bridge and a red water tower is visible in the background. After a long discussion they are shown driving west over the same bridge and are now driving towards the water tower.
During the flashback scene from Part I when the bomb is planted in Rockford's car, the keys are obviously in the ignition. As Rockford and Rocky approach the car, Rockford is shown retrieving his keys from his jacket pocket.
