This episode was included in the book "Television Writing" by Robert S. Greene, Harper & Bros, NY, 1956. The script is used as an example for many of the points they make about script writing for TV in the book. There is a note saying why they chose this script for this book: There are many reasons why this particular script was selected. The original story by Mr. Pressburger and Mr. Powell is superb - it is warm, sensitive and human, containing great dramatic impact, and is most imaginative in concept. In addition to this, it achieves great success in combining the elements of fantasy and reality into a really satisfying story.
Robert Coote was the only actor from the original 1946 film "A Matter of Life and Death" (re-titled "Stairway to Heaven" for U.S. release) to appear in this TV adaptation.
