I give this episode 10 stars for being a perfect example of how not to introduce characters for a new series!
How to make sure a new series doesn't happen: Introduce characters in a pilot episode two seasons into a show when they have never been in any other episodes of the series.
This will leave the regular viewers wondering: who are these people, what are they doing here, and why should I care about them?
This episode is non-essential to the Renegade series; it wasn't even bad in the tacky way that makes Renegade fun to watch; the storyline didn't have the same feel, which made it obvious that this had to be an attempted spinoff, along with the lack of Reno, Bobby, and Cheyenne.
Had the Carrick O'Quinn character been used in previous episodes, it would have worked better.
The only good in this episode is the example it sets for how not to set up a new series.
